A Human’s Dream

Never lose sight of your dream; for it is NOT impossible, it is NOT unreachable, it is NOT unattainable.

If you have ever seen another human be, do, or have what you truly dream of then you, by virtue of your humanness, are entitled to a shot at that dream.  If it has been done already, you have only to learn the information and take the action that the other already has (or find a team who is willing to assist you in doing so).

If you dream of something no human has ever achieved, simply consider those who also were “firsts”, achieving what no other humans had up to that point.  You are no less human than they were – you are entitled to learn, work, and grow in the direction of that which until now has been considered impossible.  You may just be the one who proves the possibility of that dream.

We cannot disprove the impossible, but we are all fully entitled to do all we can to prove what IS possible.  Never allow the unproven to remain shrouded in mystery when it is in your heart to shine light on it and show the world just how achievable it is!

Point of Greatest Positive Impact

Near the intersection of interest and aptitude we find our purpose and potential for greatest positive impact.

Doubtless we have all seen and experienced the opposite ends of the interest vs. aptitude spectrum:

  • The person who absolutely, undeniably loves to sing and puts his/her heart and soul into every word…and yet couldn’t carry a tune in a vacuum sealed storage container if his/her life depended on it.
  • The stellar performer whose skills at a particular task are beyond measure but who clearly never enjoyed it a day in his/her life and who is never without a negative thing to say about it (e.g. the person who keeps the tidiest carpets in town and does it for the best price in the shortest amount of time but has the filthiest attitude toward that particular responsibility).

We all have, and are entitled to, our opinions of which of the two is more “pleasant” to be around repeatedly or for extended periods of time. Refreshingly, every now and then we run into someone who sits nearer the center of the spectrum – someone whose skill and ability complement his/her love and enjoyment of whatever it is that s/he is doing:

  • The speaker passionate about his/her subject matter and well-equipped to deliver the message with conviction and poise
  • The scientist driven by discovery of the unknown and great at using the tools available to facilitate the exploration
  • The teacher who finds so much pleasure in his/her interaction and influence on the young that his/her 40 years of service seem to him/her like the twinkle of an eye

To know one of these people is to know someone who lives near his/her purpose in that particular moment, and accordingly, someone who is living near the greatest potential positive impact on those who s/he interacts with.

We all have a purpose; we all have a design.  We know what we enjoy, what we endure, and what we detest.  We also know in our heart of hearts when things we are involved in do not line up with what we love and/or what we have particular skill/potential in.  Sadly, many of us are busy with things that we are neither good or getting better at nor that we enjoy or truly live for simply because we fail to regularly assess our activity against our passions and skills.

Much of the joy of life comes from affecting our personal worlds positively and watching good things come of them. This video workshop on Total Life Conditioning provides tools and strategies to help us, among other things, locate our place of maximum positive impact for ourselves and on those around us by identifying where our interests meet our aptitudes, and arranging them in such a way that those having the biggest benefit are prioritized above the others.

Going forward, let us take the initiative to be conscious about how the activity of our lives lines up with the design and purpose of our lives.  None of us has the luxury of spinning our wheels producing nothing with lasting and positive result without paying an exorbitant price for time, energy, and resources.  None of us has anyone who will take more interest in the fulfillment of our life’s purpose than we ourselves.

We owe it then, to ourselves and to those we care about, to live as near to where our interest meets our aptitude as possible so we can achieve the maximum positive impact that only we can.  Let’s determine today to make it happen…for all the good we have yet to live!

Enjoy the Fruit and Plant the Seeds

Plant purposeful seeds of success all along your way and you’ll look back to find that an orchard of success has grown where you have traveled.

We all move forward on a path we have chosen, whether we enjoy our current position on that path or not, and along the way we benefit from the fruit of others’ experience.  Whether it be in the form of knowledge passed along by written or spoken media; of encouragement when those stronger or further along than us reach out a hand to pull us through our muddy spots; or of challenge as those who have already been where we are going or those who are walking along the same treacherous trail bark out our names and demand that we continue pressing on through difficulty, pain and fatigue; we are all able to continue moving forward in part because of those who have cleared the way ahead and those who walk alongside us (even if only for a moment).

There are times when the benefit afforded us is completely unintentional (we might consider ourselves in those times to be “drafting” off of the successes of those ahead of us) while at other times, the assistance we are given is completely out of conscious purpose.  The challenge of this moment is to enjoy the thought that others are drafting on our own successes, but at the same time, purposefully help others move ahead in their journeys.  Each time we reach back and pull someone through a tough spot, each time we bark out a forceful challenge and encourage another with the words “GET UP!  YOU CAN DO THIS!”, each time we tell a story of triumph and overcoming that inspires another to continue forward with renewed vigor, each time we take pieces of our own journey and hand it to others so that they can incorporate it into theirs, we plant a seed of success.

While we push forward in our own lives let us be those who intentionally look for ways to keep others around us on track toward their own destinations.  As we enjoy the ripe fruit of success that hangs from the plants seeded by those ahead of us, let’s not forget to leave seeds of those same fruits behind so that others will be able to share in the joy of similar successes.  We’ll be able to look back one day and know that not only did we achieve what we set out to do, but along the way, we helped countless others do the same and our positive impact has expanded far beyond our wildest imagination.

All we can give is what we have, and all of us have our own experiences to give out of.  If we will purposefully plant our seeds of wisdom, inspiration, challenge, encouragement, and motivation into others’ paths, we will realize as we glance behind us that our journeys of success have reproduced exponentially such that we’ll never really be able to comprehend the entire impact…and at the same time, we’ll never be able to deny it.

Let’s absolutely enjoy the ripe fruit of others’ success but let us never forget to leave handfuls of purpose behind.

Achieving Absolute Excellence,

Brandon
